Fencing is a sport that has evolved a lot in terms of technology. There are three weapons in fencing – foil, epee and sabre. Electronic scoring fencing machine has already been invented, however the following problems were raised: too many cluttered wires, too much refrains on the fencers’ movements, the full set of the scoring machine is far too heavy and the set itself is far too expensive.
Therefore, the invention of wireless fencing scoring system is meant to address these problems. The team has designed a Wireless Fencing Scoring System that replaces the machine with software that could be run on a laptop while replacing wires with Bluetooth devices as the communication link between the fencers’ weapons and the machine.
