This website was designed solely as a requirement for Group 18 of the ECE dept Senior Design Class. Project Updates:
| Spring Semester ('08) | |
| 04/14/2008 - | We're currently working on the brochures and the poster for our upcoming Senior Design Day (4/23) |
| 04/11/2008 - | We only got a little bit of time into the lab today, but we were able to use the deflection measuring device (to measure the deflection from our actuator) thanks to Professor Zhu of the Mechanical Engineering Department. |
| 04/08/2008 - | We finally got clearance to use the equipment in the Micro Nano Lab and have hooked up our actuator in order to test deflection. |
| 04/05/2008 - | Our website won the ASME Web Page Competition in Conneticut this week! The mechanical engineers Jason Bulaclac and Naiem Sulaimanee represented us at the competition. Our prize was $200. |
| 03/01/2008 - | Decided this week we will use a function generator and an oscilloscope to get our piezoelectric actuator to work. Furthermore, we decided to not worry about the construction of the handle that holds the actuator to further speed up our prototype testing process. |
| 02/09/2008 - | We received our actuators in the mail today from Physik Instruments and are current planning on a method to power it, |
| 02/02/2008 - | Our group took the plunge and ordered our peizoelectric actuator. We ordered two of them in case one doesn't work or if we break one. |
| 01/26/2008 - | During the break our group changed the peizoelectric actuator that we initially wanted from the fall semester due to cost restraints |
Fall Semester ('07) |

| 12/15/2007 - | We've completely fulfilled our requirements for the fall semester of Senior Design for both the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Department! We look forward to the challenges to overcome next semester. |
| 12/03/2007 - | We've endlessly tweaked our design and have finalized it. We've completed 99.9% of our requirements for the fall semester. The only upcoming event is the presentation for the Mechanical Engineering Dept. Look in the documents section for our final report, our final presentation and newly added links. |
