In today’s market there is no method of communication between vehicles. Creating a product that could facilitate inter-vehicle communication would allow drivers to have real-time information about the road conditions ahead of them. This could serve as a safety measure, preventing accidents caused by dangerous road conditions. It could also serve to ease traffic congestion by alerting drivers in real-time of the traffic patterns ahead of them.
SOMN WiLink would be a product which fills this void in the market. Our product would work by reading information from a car’s sensors and relaying this data to other cars within a certain range, in order to provide other drivers with information about conditions on the road ahead of them. The product could transmit alerts to other drivers about road conditions, traffic patterns, or user input messages that a driver would like to relay to other drivers. This product would relay this information by creating a Self Organizing Mesh Network (SOMN) with all the other cars in a specified range.
